Take the next step in your hospitality career

If you want to move into a Duty Manager role in New Zealand, you’ll need your Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ). This qualification shows you understand the law, host responsibility, and how to keep customers and staff safe in licensed venues.

At Pop! Training, we make LCQ training supportive, practical, and motivating, giving you more than just a certificate. You’ll leave with the confidence and skills to take on greater responsibility in your hospitality career.

What is the LCQ?

The Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) is a nationally recognised qualification required if you want to apply for a Duty Manager Certificate under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

It proves you have the knowledge and skills to:

  • Manage the sale and supply of alcohol responsibly
  • Meet legal requirements and compliance standards
  • Promote host responsibility and safe service
  • Handle difficult or intoxicated customers confidently
